JAMMU, Aug 14:Lalded Women Welfare Society (LWWS) organized a motivational programme in the form of a play “Importance of Freedom” today.
The play was written by Mohd Khurshed and directed by Naveen Pal.
Through this Nukkad play an effort has been made to tell the world about the importance of freedom.
The story of the Nukkad goes that once an old man is riding a bicycle and going to the city, with a national flag affixed to his bicycle. On the way some boys interact with the old man and ask him where he was heading for by affixing the flag on his bicycle and the old man in place of answering them asks as if what day today was? The young boys tell him that they knew about the day, but sought to know more about the day from the old man. Then the old man tells them that this is the day of freedom. That’s why he has affixed the flag on his bicycle. The boys feel guilty by hearing the old man’s explanation and the old man tells them not to keep silence but instead, go to home and hoist the flag on your houses and tell the whole village people that today is the day of freedom.
Those who played the lead roles in the play were director Naveen Paul , Suraj Narayan, Rajinder Kishor Kumar (Singer) Santosh Basotra and Ashish Bhatti.
