SAMBA, Jan 10: Low Paid Employees Federation today staged a protest demonstration here at DC Office complex to press the Government for release of 10% DA installment, due since July 2013, in respect of State employees and pensioners in cash.
A large number of employees and pensioners under the banner of LPEF assembled at DC Office complex and raised slogans against the Government for adopting delaying tactics in releasing DA installment. They said on one hand prices of essential commodities are rising astronomically while on the other hand the State Government is sitting silent on their long outstanding demand for release of DA installment.
Later, the protesting employees and pensioners presented a memorandum of their demands including raising of medical allowance to Rs 1000 and retirement age to 60 years, to the Deputy Commissioner, who assured to take up the matter with Government for speedy redressal.
