LPEF demands merger of 50% DA into salary, pension

KATHUA, Nov 12: The Kathua unit of All J&K Low Paid Govt Employees Federation (LPEF) has demanded merger of 50% DA into the salary/pension of the employees and pensioners besides enhancement of their Medical allowance to Rs 1000 per month from existing Rs 300.
A meeting of the Federation was held at Hiranagar today under the chairmanship of Rashid Ahmed, retired Lecturer. He said the 8th Pay Commission as per Govt’s announcement is being implemented from January 2026. But the Government has constituted the Commission for it recently which will give report within 18 months. It means, its benefit to the employees and pensioners will be delayed for about one and half year.
The LPEF appealed to the Government to merge 50% DA into the salary/ pension of the employees and pensioners and in the meantime, to grant interim relief at the earliest.
Federation also demanded enhancement of Medical allowance to Rs 1000 per month, regularization of daily wagers/ contractual workers/ ASHA/ Mid Day Meals and Anganwadi workers and release of pending GP Fund, Gratuity and Commutation of the employees retired during last one year.
Senior members Ishar Dass Sangra, R K Maini, Jugal Sharma, J S Awal, Kabla Singh and others were also present during the meeting.
