KATRA, Aug 24: An unmarried young couple from Haryana committed suicide in a hotel room here today.
Their identity was established as Sunil (25), son of Krishan Kumar of Gummor, Sonipat, Haryana and Reena (20), daughter of Atar Singh of Rosali, Panipat, Haryana. The duo was found dead in the hotel room, where they had checked in last night.
Both the boy and girl have apparently committed suicide by consuming some poisonous substance. Body of the girl was found lying in bathroom while the boy was lying dead on the bed.
Reports said that the duo had checked in the hotel last night and posed themselves as pilgrim of Mata Vaishno Devi. However, they neither left the hired room nor their movement was noticed throughout the day today. On being knocked, door of their room was found locked from inside.
Fearing something foul , the hotel staff called police and broke open door of the room where the duo was found lying dead.
Police shifted the bodies to hospital for legal formalities and informed family members of the deceased besides registering a case in this connection.
