Logistic Coordination Committee re-constituted

JAMMU, May 20: J&K Government today re-constituted Logistic Coordination Committee for Integrated Development of Logistic Sector in the Union Territory.
Headed by Administrative Secretary, Industries & Commerce Department, the committee shall finalize the Union Territory Logistic Police and Logistic Plans, facilitate ease of cargo movement via green channels, develop the Transport Nagar for promotion of logistic service and develop logistic and warehousing hubs/dry ports.
It shall identify infrastructure gaps in existing logistics facilities and promoting multi-modal integration to improve overall logistics efficiency for both domestic and EXIM trade.
Besides formulating strategies through the creation of new infrastructure and augumentation of existing facilities, along with relevant policy initiatives for competitive logistics cost, the committee shall explore the adoption of PM Gati Shakti National Master Plan for project planning inter-agency co-ordination and infrastructure development including for last mile connectivity.
Administrative Secretary, Transport Department; Divisional Commissioner Kashmir/Jammu; Director general (Codes) Finance Department; Director Industries & Commerce, Kashmir/Jammu; Chief Commercial Manager, Freight Marketing) New Delhi; Senior Divisional Commercial Manager, Northern Railways, Ferozpur and representatives of Agriculture Production Department, PWD, Ministry of Commerce, GoI, State Taxes Department, Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs, Department of Revenue, Ministry of Finance, GoI are members of the committee.
