RAJOURI, Mar 31: Serious concern has been expressed by local residents over the damaged condition of the protection wall constructed along the Parali Katha to Azmatabad road, a vital 2 km stretch connecting two densely populated villages.
The protection wall, constructed by TBL Construction at Manyal along the Mughal Road near Pala Morh, has reportedly developed major damage within a short period. Locals allege that the deterioration is a result of the use of substandard construction material and poor workmanship by the executing agency.
Due to the damage, road connectivity has been severely affected, posing serious risks to commuters. Patients requiring urgent medical care and school-going children are among the worst sufferers, as the disruption has made daily movement difficult and unsafe.
Residents have expressed strong resentment over the poor quality of work and have also blamed GREF for inadequate supervision, which they say led to the premature damage of the protection wall and subsequent disconnection of the entire area.
The locals have urged the concerned authorities to initiate an immediate inquiry to fix accountability and take swift action for the reconstruction and restoration of the damaged wall to ensure safe and smooth connectivity.
They have also appealed to the District Administration Rajouri to intervene at the earliest and address the issue on priority to prevent any untoward incidents.
