POONCH, June 4: Ignored by the R&B authorities in Poonch distrct, the locals have repaired the Mandi-Loran road near Rajpura area themselves as more than 11 KM of this road is in dilapidated condition and as per them nobody in the district administration is listening to their sufferings.
Mohd Firdous, Farooq Ahmed and many other locals said that the condition of road was worst from many years and during the rainfall, it doesn’t seem road but converts into like a nallah/khud. Hundreds of vehicles ply on this road on daily basis and commuters are suffering badly so public has been compelled to repair it themselves by generating some funds and usuing local machine.
“We are surprised why Government and administration is not taking this matter seriously. All main roads in tehsil Mandi are in worst condition and authorities have failed to provide basic facility of road or macadamization to us since long. Though this road was repaired last year with very less amount but we can’t understand that what sort of repairing is this. We request administration to macadamize this road and if it is not possible, make drains and fill potholes at least,” they added.
