UDHAMPUR, July 4: Villagers of Kulwanta today protested against the worst condition of PMGSY road to Bari Ladana in Ramnagar tehsil.
The protest was held under the leadership of Ex Sarpanch Khem Raj, Babu Ram, Anil Singh, Balbir Singh, Ranjeet Singh, Karnail Singh and others.
They raised slogans against the PMGSY Department and appealed to the Lt Governor for his personal intervention to ensure repair of this road under PMGSY.
Even as this road was completed 3 year back, the poor quality work and material by the contractor led to its extremely poor condition, which needs a high level inquiry also, they said.
The villagers alleged no action by the district administration and PMGSY Department to repair the road, which connects village Kulwanta to Bari Ladana.
“These days the condition of the road is so bad that we can’t even walk on it and it is risky to carry sick and old persons, pregnant women to Sub District Hospital Ramnagar and District Hospital Udhampur because of big potholes,” they said and demanded immediate repair of the road.
