UDHAMPUR, Aug 4: The residents of Panchari and Moungri have served an ultimatum to the PMGSY (Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana) Department warning massive `Chakka Jaam’ if their road is not repaired by August 11, 2025.
“If the damaged roads filled with potholes and broken drainage is not repaired by 11th August 2025, a massive “Chakka Jaam” protest will be held at Kainthgali Chowk,” warned the locals.
The villagers said that despite repeated complaints and submissions to the concerned authorities, no concrete action has been taken so far.
They alleged that around Rs 100 crore has reportedly been spent on road projects in the region, but most of it has gone to waste due to substandard work and use of poor-quality materials. As a result, the roads have deteriorated rapidly, affecting students, patients, transport services and the local tourism economy, they added.
