LONDON, Aug 13 : Around 100 people took part in a protest against the visit of US Vice President JD Vance to the United Kingdom, The Guardian newspaper reported.
Last month, The Telegraph newspaper reported, citing sources, that Vance would go on holiday to the UK with his family in August, which would become a symbol of the closeness between the two countries.
The Guardian reported on Tuesday that about 100 people, mostly women, attended a “not welcome” protest against Vance, organized by the Stop Trump Coalition in the Cotswolds village park, opposite the Co-op in Charlbury.
Axios reported over the weekend, citing a US official, that Vance met with UK Foreign Secretary David Lammy, as well as representatives of Ukraine and Europe, on Saturday at the Chevening House in Kent, England. The meeting produced “significant progress” toward US President Donald Trump’s goal of ending the war in Ukraine, the US official said.
Last week, The Telegraph reported, citing sources, that Vance was going to visit Lammy during his August holiday in the United Kingdom and that the US vice president and his family were going to stay with Lammy at his country house in Kent.
