SRINAGAR, Mar 17: The trans-Line of Control (LoC) traders today protested against a Government order in which they were asked to vacate the trucks from the queue in which they are for crossing over to Muzaffarbad.
Over 300-400 trucks are in a queue for cross over at Salamabad Uri and a Government order today asked the traders to vacate their trucks. But the traders are resisting the Government order.
The traders said that their trucks are in a queue but the Government order has asked that only 100 trucks should be allowed to be in the queue. They said that suspension of trade last month and less number of trucks allowed to cross over has led to lot of back log and a long queue.
The traders said that earlier the some influential traders used to keep some loaded trucks in a queue and later used to replace them with the fresh fruits. The smaller traders who could not afford to keep a loaded truck in queue are now keeping empty truck in a queue and later replacing them with loaded trucks.
They said that some influential traders are trying to hijack the trade and are using their influence to prevail upon the Government. The traders said that they will not allow hegemony of some influential traders.
