FARIDABAD, June 23: Kashmiri Sewak Samaj (KSS) Faridabad in collaboration with Kakni Foundation and Ishwar Ashram Trust here today organised a literary programme on Kashmir Shaivism and on the life/teachings of Mahamaheshwar Acharya Abhinavgupt.
Kashi Akhoon, vice president KSS delivered welcome address.
Sunil Raina in his speech gave an account of universities which have started courses on Kashmir Shaivism.
Major General Ramesh Kumar Raina was the chief guest.
Former Vice Chancellor, Dr Raj Nehru, OSD to Chief Minister of Haryana talked on Kashmir Shaivism.
Dr Rajnish Mishra, Prof at JNU and authority on Kashmiri Shaivism gave an insight of the teachings of Abhinavgupt.
Dr Anushree Munshi of Ishwar Ashram Trust elaborated the role of Abhinavgupt and Swami Lakshman Joo in reviving Kashmir Shaivism.
C.L Kaul in his presentation threw light on the life history of Abhinavgupt and his works on Kashmir Shaivism.
On this occasion Dr Shashi Shekhar Toshkhani was honoured with Mahamaheshwar Acharya Abhinavgupt Samman and was given a cash prize of Rs. 51000 and trophy for his contribution to Kashmir Shaivism.
Pt Prabhat Mukerjee, renowned Santoor Artist mesmerised the audience by his voice and Santoor music.
Vote of thanks was delivered by Sanjay Kaul and concluding remark was given by Vinod Dhar.
