JAMMU, Feb 5: A meeting of the Senior Citizen Forum (SCF) was held today under the chairmanship of its president Girdhari Kalotra and the unhygienic condition of the JDA Park, Ram Vihar, old Janipur was discussed.
The meeting observed that inspite of the ongoing construction / repair work in the park, mulba (waste material) has not been lifted up by the contractor, giving a shabby look to the park instead of giving an attractive look for which it is made for the people to have a stroll both in the evening as well as in morning.
Besides, some unsocial elements make the misuse of the park viz they use it as a wine bar at night and there is no check over such scrupulous elements.
Another serious point which was viewed was the disturbance by the cricket players which is always risky for the morning / evening walkers and other people as chances of their physically hurt increase.
The meeting appealed the JDA Authority and Police authority to have a check over this park and do the needful required for the park.
Others present in the meeting were Tirth Singh Jamwal, Sheru Sharma, Chuni Lal, Bansi Lal Dogra, Raghubir Singh and Milap Singh.
