JAMMU, Nov 11: The 32nd annual convention of Life Insurance Agents Federation of India (LIAFI), Srinagar Division was held today at Hotel 17 Miles wherein the members criticized the management for neglecting, overlooking and disregarding agents throughout the last 62 years.
Agents from all the branches of Srinagar Division participated in the convention, where BJP MP Jugal Kishore Sharma was the chief guest while N Gajapathy Rao (secretary general, all India LIAFI), Dilbagh Singh Nain (north zone president LIAFI), Kapoor Singh (Senior Divisional Manager, Srinagar Division), Sagar Dev Nagi (Marketing Manager, Srinagar Division) and Dinesh Singh Slathia (Manager Sales, DO Cell Jammu) were the guests of honour.
“Despite the careless attitude of the management towards the agents, we are committed to safe guard the interest of Life Insurance Corporation of India”, the agents said and urge the management to pay maximum commission without taking the shelter of maximum commission payable and implement both the notifications issued by IRDAI regarding payment of commission.
The agents also raised many issues like implementation of IRDAI notification on bonus to policy holders, removal of GST and enhancement of gratuity and submitted a memorandum of demands to MP Jugal Kishore Sharma, who assured the agents that he will discuss the GST problem with the Finance Minister and take up other issues with management of LIC.
The speakers said that LIC agents procure more than 95% business for the corporation, but they are ignored and harassed at each and every step. They said if no assurance is given by the management on their demands, a nation-wide agitation will be started from December 1″, they added.
Meanwhile, Narinder Kumar Sharma (president, LIAFI, Srinagar Division) and Bodh Raj Sharma (secretary, Srinagar Division) were re-elected for next tenure.
