Liabilities prior to 2019-20 to be cleared by March 31

JAMMU, Mar 17: The Finance Department of J&K Government has enjoined upon all the department to process for payments of goods and services procured prior to 2019-20, which have not been cleared for various reasons.
According to a circular in this regard, issued today by the Financial Commissioner, Finance Department, no liability should be carried forward to Financial Year 2021-22, if these liabilities have been incurred after following due process.
Instances have been brought to notice of Finance Department regarding procurement of goods and services, largely prior to 2019-20, which have not been cleared for various reasons.
“It is enjoined upon all concerned department that cases of goods and services procured as per norms laid down in transparent manner and duly verified, can be process for payment as per GFR,” reads the circular.
