JAMMU, Jan 15: The Jammu and Kashmir Government has issued orders finalising arrangements for the Republic Day celebrations on 26 January 2026 across the Union Territory.
As per the General Administration Department order, the Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha will preside over and take the salute at the main function at MA Stadium in Jammu, where the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah will be the Chief Guest.
Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Choudhary will take the salute in Srinagar, while Sakeena Masood will preside over the function in Anantnag, Javed Ahmed Rana in Poonch, Javid Ahmad Dar in Baramulla.
The order further states that DDC Chairpersons will preside over celebrations at remaining district headquarters, while Sub-Divisional Magistrates and Tehsildars or senior-most civil officers will take the salute at sub-divisional, tehsil, block and municipal headquarters as decided by the concerned Deputy Commissioners.
