LG pays homage to bravehearts of Kargil War

SRINAGAR, July 25: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha paid homage to the gallantry of the martyrs and heroes of Kargil war on the eve of “Kargil Vijay Diwas”.
“I salute the valour and courage of our immortal heroes who fought till their last breath to protect the sovereignty and integrity of our great nation, and recaptured territory of our motherland in Kargil from the enemy”, said the Lt Governor.
On 26th July, 1999, the whole world witnessed the unparalleled courage of our brave soldiers who overcame the challenges of impossible peaks and displayed the might of the country.
I pay homage to those self-sacrificing and devoted sons of Maa Bharti. I also salute the undeterred courage of the families of our bravehearts, said the Lt Governor.
Meanwhile, Riyaaz Bashir Naaz, DDC member Poonch called on Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha.
The DDC member apprised the Lt Governor of various important issues of District Poonch, including strengthening road and power network in far flung areas, establishment of trauma hospital, augmentation of medical facilities in border areas, besides the issue of Loran-Tangmarg road connectivity.
The Lt Governor gave a patient hearing to the issues and demands presented by the DDC member, and assured him of appropriate redressal of the same on merit.
He further urged him to continue his endeavours towards public service.
