LG Kavinder reaffirms inclusive growth, meets multiple delegations in Kargil

KARGIL, Aug 29: Reaffirming the commitment of the Union Territory Administration towards inclusive and people-centric governance, the Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Kavinder Gupta today assured that the Government is determined to bridge development gaps and address the genuine concerns of the people in a transparent and time-bound manner.
The LG had interacted with the various delegations hailed from different parts of Kargil, who called him and presented their demands and suggestions on various developmental issues.
A delegation led by Chief Executive Councillor Dr Mohd Jaffer Akhoon, accompanied by Executive Councillor Aga Mujtaba Mosavi and representatives from the Traspone region, sought the establishment of a Tehsil headquarters in Traspone along with the upgradation of the local Primary Health Centre into a Community Health Centre (CHC).
Member of Parliament from Ladakh, Mohammad Hanifa Jan, requested a private aircraft facility for winter travel in Kargil, the expansion of the district hospital from 100 to 200 beds, and the establishment of a multi-speciality medical wing on the lines of AIIMS and PGI.
Similarly, a delegation led by Chairman of the Hajj Committee, Mohammad Ali Majaz, pressed for the establishment of a Passport Seva Kendra in Kargil.
A group of job aspirants, contractual employees including cooks and helpers and medical staff working at SKIMS also raised their issues before the Lt Governor.
Listening patiently to the concerns, LG Gupta assured that the UT Administration would adopt a consultative and coordinated approach to ensure speedy redressal of public grievances.
He reiterated that equitable development across Ladakh remains a top priority of the UT Government.
“Our Administration is here to serve the people with sincerity, accountability and transparency. Development must reach the last person in the queue and every citizen of Ladakh should feel empowered and included in the growth journey,” he said.
Deputy Commissioner/CEO, LAHDC Kargil, Rakesh Kumar and Senior Superintendent of Police, Kargil, Shree Raam R, were also present on the occasion.
