JAMMU, Aug 29: The Lieutenant Governor of the Jammu and Kashmir, who happens to be the Chairman of the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board, has constituted a three-member panel led by Additional Chief Secretary to the Government, Jal Shakti Department, to inquire into the reasons behind the landslide near Aadhkuwari on the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Ji track on August 26.

The Committee, with Divisional Commissioner and IGP Jammu as members, will examine in detail the causes/reasons behind the incident and point out any lapses.
The committee will also assess responses in the form of rescue and relief measures undertaken besides suggesting appropriate SOPs and measures for preventing recurrence of such incidents in future.
