JAMMU, Aug 1: Stressing for better coordination between the traders of Jammu, Leh and Kargil districts of the UT of Ladakh, Lt Governor of Ladakh, Kavinder Gupta today said that Chamber of Commerce and Industry Jammu can play a vital role for it.
Addressing members of JCCI during a felicitation function at the Chamber Bhawan here today, LG said Jammu Chamber being the strong voice of the business community of Jammu region can ensure better coordination between the traders of Jammu and their counter parts in Kargil and Leh in the UT of Ladakh.
Lt Governor further said that his main thrust will be speedy development of tourism of Ladakh region and for the betterment of people of Leh and Kargil. He said that efforts will be made to start the Amarnath Yatra next year from Ladakh route and Zojila Tunnel connectivity project shall be given top priority.
While welcoming the new LG Ladakh, Arun Gupta- president Chamber of Commerce & Industry expressed hope that under the able leadership of Kavinder Gupta, the bonds between the people of Jammu and Ladakh will be further strengthened. He recalled the services rendered by Kavinder Gupta as Mayor of Jammu Municipal Corporation, Speaker J&K State Legislative Assembly and as Dy Chief Minister of J&K State.
JCCI chief further said that now the responsibilities of Kavinder Gupta as LG of Ladakh has increased manifold. He is well aware of the difficulties / issues being faced by the people of Jammu and requested him to take up these issues with the Union Government for their early redressal.
Earlier, JCCI team felicitated Kavinder Gupta (LG of Ladakh) besides Arvind Gupta, Yudhvir Sethi, Surinder Bhagat- all MLAs and Ashok Kaul, general secretary BJP at Sabha Bhawan.
