“Government is one. One is the elder brother, the other is the younger brother. Both want the betterment of people and both are working together,” he told reporters after visiting the Sopore Fruit Mandi to assess the situation on the ground.
He emphasized that there were no differences between the two.
“When they (LG and CM) work together, there will be more development in J&K. In between them, there is no dispute. The LG wants betterment and so does the elected Government.”
Raina said those associated with the fruit sector had faced difficulties due to the closure of the National Highway, assuring that the transportation of produce would now be smooth.
He stressed that protecting the interests of the people was both a moral and constitutional responsibility and said the issues raised by stakeholders would be addressed.
“We are duty-bound to come when our people are facing hardships. We are all worried for you and want to put an end to your difficulties. There have been losses, and we will talk about it,” he said.
On road connectivity, Raina said: “A major portion of the highway was damaged and it has now been restored. The Mughal Road has also been put to use for connectivity, enabling supply of the essentials.”
He said representatives of fruit mandis across Kashmir were reaching out to him with demands, which would be taken up with the concerned authorities.
