Let people know about roadmap for talks: Vakil to Sinha

Excelsior Correspondent
SRINANAGR, Aug 21: Former minister, Abdul Gani Vakil today asked Yashwant Sinha,  former Union Finance Minister  and top BJP leader,  head of a team of concerned citizens of India to tell people all about the mandate Central Government has given to his team for holding talks with all stake holders including separatist leadership and the road map for the talks he is holding in Kashmir.
Regretting that Central Government denies reports of having given mandate to Yashwant Sinha led team visiting Kashmir even without a roadmap for talks Vakil said, political engagement by Yashwant Sinha led team with some separatist leaders and civil society members without a well defined road map is just wastage of time and an attempt to deflect the attention of the people from the new rows over Article 35A and Article 370 cropping up in the State
Questioning that when Yashwant Sinha led team has neither  the official mandate of the Central Government to talk to stake holders in Kashmir  nor a well defined road map for political engagement in Kashmir, then what for Sinha has come and with what purposes he is meeting cross section of people including the separatist leaders.
Asking Sinha to stop playing this political drama, Vakil said coming to Kashmir without the official mandate and a well defined road map for talks is unbecoming of a politician of the stature of Sinha, who was both Finance and as well as Foreign Affairs Minister in the erstwhile Vajpayee Government.
Vakil said engagement with people mandated by the Central Government to hold dialogue in Kashmir is the only way to resolve Kashmir issue with seriousness and sensitivities required for stabilization of peace and political stability in J&K State.
