KATHUA, Aug 21: A legal awareness camp was organized under the aegis of Pawan Dev Kotwal , Chairman district Legal Services Authority Kathua at Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Kathua today on the topic Rights of Women and Protection of Women from Domestic Violence (PWDV) Act.
The main objective of the camp was to make the students aware about the rights of women and their protection from domestic violence. While speaking on the occasion, Aarti Mohan , Secretary District Legal Services Authority, Kathua delivered the lecture regarding various issues related to women and steps provided in law for overcoming the same.
She also highlighted the various schemes being launched by the Government for the benefits of women and also impressed upon the students to take maximum benefits of these schemes. Sunita Devi, Puneet Kumari and Sumit Jasrotia retainer lawyers of District Legal Services Authority and Tehsil Legal Services Committee Kathua also spoke on the occasion regarding the rights of women and their protection from domestic violence.
The staff of Government Girls Higher Secondary School along with large number of students participated in this awareness camp. The programme was also attended by Legal volunteers of District Legal Service Authority and Tehsil Legal Services Committee, Kathua.
