JAMMU, Apr 18: Seven day Legal Aid and Legal Literacy Camp concluded today at Dogra Law College here today.
On the valedictory function, Justice Varinder Singh, Judge J&K High Court and Executive Chairman State Legal Service Authority was the chief guest, while, Sheikh Shakeel, Advocate J&K High Court and Rajni Sehgal, Superintendent, Kot Bhalwal Jail, were the guests of honour.
Justice Varinder Singh, while speaking stressed upon the need of active and functional involvement of Law institutions in such meaningful Legal Activity so as to enhance and strengthen the concept of Clinical Legal Education.
He assured the students that the matter of starting Legal Aid Clinic in Dogra Law College for creating a functional legal literacy in adjoining villages is in pipeline.
Gulchain Singh Charak, Chairman, Dogra Educational Trust in his address shared his practical experiences about functional legal literacy and legal aid of J&K and also about other states of the country.
He assured that the Dogra Educational Trust will provide all possible help to the students for becoming the best legal professionals and for attaining academic excellence.
He also presented mementos to six students of Dogra Law College for taking successfully a very meaningful and useful venture in probing the difficulties and miseries of deaf and dumb inhabitants of Dadhkhai.
Earlier, Prof VK Kapoor, Director cum Principal delivered the welcome address.
