Lecturers’ Day celebrated with enthusiasm

JAMMU, May 21: All JK +2 Lecturers’ Forum today celebrated its annual day at Abhinav Theater wherein both provincial units of the forum participated with great enthusiasm displaying a show of strength and unity.
The function was presided over by Sunil Sharma (Ex-Minister for Power) as chief guest, who started the function by lighting the traditional lamp.
The programme was co-ordinated by Pardeep Koul (district president, Kishtwar) and Renu Langeh, vice president (F) Jammu district amidst mesmerizing poetry and clapping by jam-packed audience comprising of CEOs, DIET Principals, lecturers from all the districts and a large number of trade union leaders.
Sunil Sharma, while responding to the issues raised by the Forum, disclosed that he has been in constant touch with the LG administration, Chief Secretary Arun Mehta and Principal Secretary School Education Department Alok Kumar vis-a-vis all pending issues.
Director School Education Jammu Ashok Kumar Sharma also graced the function. He spoke on variety of issues including ATD, Regularization & ACP.
Prominent among those who attended and spoke during the function include RS Salathia (chairman), Pardeep Singh Rakwal (president of the Forum), Shakeel Ahmed Butt (provincial president, Kashmir), Dr Manzoor (chairman SEECC), Ganesh Khajuria (chairman JKTF), Ashok Sharma (vice president Jammu) and others.
RS Salathia and Pardeep Singh Rakwal appealed Principal Secretary SED to go for regularization of Incharge +2 officers in one go including PG degree holders through distance mode in Science stream to end years of discrimination with them.
On ongoing ATD, Salathia and Rakwal requested the Principal Secretary Education to open all zones while opting preferences besides allowing the officers to opt schools as their preferences as zones have scattered schools and thus it would defeat the very purpose of ATD if this is not done.
Shakeel Ahmed Butt, Dr Manzoor President, Fayaz Ahmed Attar, Younus Gurezi, Fida Gulzar and Rayees Abdullah demanded filling up of all vacant posts of lecturers in the interest of students.
