KATRA, Apr 10: Professor Sunil Pandey from Department of Mechanical Engineering, IIT Delhi, conducted four-day lecture series on Welding Technologies from April 6, in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, SMVDU.
Various important aspects on Welding process, such as hazards and safety, welding consumables, power sources; metal transfer, latest Welding Technology Developed etc were covered in interactive session with students of B Tech. and M Tech. (Manufacturing and Automation) in the Department. Further, students were given exposures in research avenues, job opportunities and startup scope in the welding field.
Dr Balbir Singh, Head, Department of Mechanical Engineering, presented vote of thanks acknowledging the conduct of special lecture series and faculty interaction for updating syllabus of B Tech Mechanical Engineering and M Tech. Manufacturing and Automation, so as to meet industry needs and improve employability of students. The session was followed by extensive interaction.
