Lecture on role of foreign funding in abetting terrorism held

UDHAMPUR, Dec 17: Sher-i-Kashmir Police Academy (SKPA) here today hosted a lecture by Dr. Daleep Pandita on the role of foreign funding in abetting terrorism.
Dr. Pandita delivered a comprehensive lecture through power point presentation about the foreign funding provided to NGOs that is used for abetting terrorist activities in India with special reference to J&K.
Based on his vast experience and international exposure as New India Assurance Company’s former Regional Manager for Northern India, Dr. Pandita deliberated upon the modus operandi used by such illegal promoters in disturbing security, safety and stability of the region.
He explained in depth on how these unlawful operations are being carried out by misusing financial transitions resulting in various economic crimes.
About 30 J&K Police force officers of the rank of Dy. SP attended the lecture during this two week vertical interaction course going on at SKPA.
Role of banking and financial institutions in checking money laundering that is abetting terrorist activities in J&K due to unauthorized financial transitions was discussed in detail in order to evolve a comprehensive strategy to counter it.
Insurgency in J&K remained main focus of the lecture.
