NEW DELHI, Jan 24: Lead prices edged lower by 0.28 per cent to Rs 126.80 per kg in futures trade today, after speculators reduced their exposures amid a weak trend overseas.
Besides, sluggish demand from battery-makers in the spot market also put pressure on the prices.
At the Multi Commodity exchange, lead for delivery in February shed 35 paise, or 0.28 per cent to Rs 126.80 per kg in business turnover of 372 lots.
Likewise, the metal for delivery in January declined by 25 paise, or 0.20 per cent to Rs 126.40 per kg in a turnover of 1,674 lots.
Market analysts besides a weak trend in base metals at the London Metal Exchange even as China’s preliminary manufacturing data for January that exceeded estimates, sluggish demand from battery-makers in the spot market, also put pressure on the lead futures prices. (PTI)
