JAMMU, Apr 5: A local court here today granted one-day police custody of notorious criminal Gulzar Ahmed, alias Lau Gujjar, who was arrested from the Prithvipur area with a Glock pistol and 280 grams of heroin on Saturday.
The accused, a history-sheeter wanted in multiple cases, was produced before the court through virtual mode after his arrest by a team of Police Station Miran Sahib with the assistance of Crisis Response Team (CRT) of the Jammu and Kashmir Police.
Sources said acting on the request of the investigating agency, the court remanded him to police custody for a day to facilitate his further questioning regarding the recovery of the arms and heroin.
Meanwhile, police also conducted a search at the ancestral house of the accused in the Waziru Chak area of Bishnah.
Sources said during the raid, officials seized incriminating material, including a fake Aadhaar card and other suspicious documents, which are being examined.
