JAMMU, Aug 10: Learner’s Ability Management Programme (LAMP) in collaboration with Dean, Faculty of Education, University of Jammu organised IInd Millennial Conclave on “Innovation and Multi-Cultural Research in Education” on virtual platform, here today.
LAMP is a platform where scholars are volunteering themselves as participants, organizers, managers, learners and most importantly support system to each other. The Programme is the brain-child of Prof Renu Nanda, Dean, Faculty of Education, JU, with purpose to enhance the abilities and skills of the students and the research scholars in the area of educational research following trans-disciplinary approach.
Prof Flavia Stara, Professor in Philosophy of Education and Human Resources in Tourism, University of Macerata(Italy) was the key Resource Person. Prof Manoj Dhar, Vice-Chancellor JU was the chief guest whereas Prof Rajni Dhingra, Dean Research Studies was the special invitee on the occasion.
Prof Flavia Stara laid emphasis on inclusive research and philosophical counselling. She said that in order to get good results, teachers must be educated to new methodologies, new curricula, etc so as to implement dialects to promote curiosity in younger generation. She stressed upon interdisciplinary in terms of co-teaching because this encourages students’ mind to have different vision.
Prof Manoj Dhar highlighted the obstacles being faced by India while conducting multi research like poor illiteracy rate of women, dropout, low enrolment ratio, lack of knowledge of basic education. He stated that National Educational Policy (NEP, 2020) is an effective Government policy that will reflect all the issues and provide opportunities to teachers and students to work on such kind of researches.
Prof. Renu Nanda, Dean Faculty of Education, JU, said that every word of the key Resource Person coincided with recommendations of NEP-2020.
Prof Rajni Dhingra delivered the formal welcome address and called this conclave a great success with the presence of participants having illuminating ideas.
Vote of thanks was proposed by Sita Anand, Liasion Officer, GZSAC JU. The conclave was attended by guests from TISS Mumbai, NCERT, Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University, Aurangabad, School Education Department Jammu and Himachal Pradesh, Prof Rajeev Rattan Sharma, Head Department of Education, faculty members of Department of Education and retired Professors of the Department.
