Lament on Pandit killing

Sir,
This is concerning ‘One more crucified’ by B.L. Saraf (DE 9 June). He has brought out a plethora of charges not only against the rather unresponsive entity namely the Government but also against other entities which he does not reveal precisely. The long litany of KP suffering and neglect by authorities is nothing new. But the crucial phrase in his write up is “Pandit return to the homeland”
What does a “Homeland” mean and where is the homeland of the Pandits? This is the crux of the entire narrative. Instead of lamenting what happened to Pandits — a long and oft-repeated lament —he should have focused on what is the current status of Kashmir Valley and its Muslim denizens and leadership; how they volunteered to lose their identity and how the intransigent leadership of the valley mired in self-aggrandizement under the mask of religion has brought about the impending dismemberment of the State. He should be futuristic rather than status-quo-ist in the matter of Kashmir.
