Lal Singh takes stock of people’s problems

KATHUA, Sept 17:   Member Parliament Ch Lal Singh today convened a public meeting at Plail of tehsil Billawar to listen to the problems of the local people.
Additional District Development Commissioner, Kathua Ajay Jamwal, besides Executive Engineer, Irrigation  and Flood control, Tehsildar, BDO, Kathua accompanied the Member Parliament during the meeting.
Panchs and Sarpanchs of Plail, Dambra-East, Dambra-West, Nowshera Muni, Parnalla, Dhamlaarh and Chanera highlighted the problems before the MP.  They demanded early completion of Plail – Dambra water scheme, repair of hand pumps falling under Dhmaal, Khaddi, Draman and Gori Mohda. They also demanded installation of high mast lights in the area, electric poles and repair of Plail- Dambra road.
Sarpanch Dambra – East demanded fair weather road from Dambra to Banode road via Behra. He also demanded fifteen electric poles for the panchayat. Chandra panch demanded two roads from Dhar- Mahanpur to Niali and Utaar to Plail.
MP Ch Lal Singh gave patient hearing to the problems and grievances of the people and said the Government was committed to strengthen the panchayats for the economic and social development of the rural areas.
Ch Lal Singh said that the elected Panchs and Sarpanchs are entrusted with the responsibility to make the people aware of various schemes for improving their socio-economic status. He appealed the people to avail maximum benefits from Centrally Sponsored MGNREGA, which not only provides employment but also accelerate development of rural areas.
While passing on spot instructions to the functionaries of various departments, he asked the XEn PMGSY to cover more habitation to achieve the aim of the scheme. He directed the Flood Control Department to lay crates in flood prone areas. Instructions were also given to Irrigation Department to repair the damaged irrigation channels on priority basis.
