KATHUA, July 25: Former Minister and chairman Dogra Swabhiman Sangathan (DSS), Ch.Lal Singh who expressed anguish over the working of Basholi administration held a massive demonstration against Additional DC Basholi, here, today who he alleged has created a sense of fear among the general public in Basholi.
Lal Singh said the dictatorial attitude of the officer can be gauged from the fact that when people called him (Çh. Lal Singh) in their area, ADC in violation of standing norms, imposed Section 144, much to the anger and shock of the local people.
All types of development works have been stopped due to the whimsical attitude of the Additional DC, he added. Sarpanchas and Panchas of more than 20 Panchyats, finally came all the way from Basholi to Kathua and presented their case before DC Kathua under the leadership of Ch.Lal Singh. The DSS chief, while speaking said that it is unfortunate that the local administration which should work for the welfare of general public is becoming source of intimidation and harassment. Instead of the crackdown on the political leaders of Kashmir who are charged of corruption, the crackdown on the innocent people of Basholi is unfortunate. He said that immature behavior of the administration in every nook and corner of the State has frustrated and totally demoralized the general public
He warned that if the corrective measure are not taken by the Government and the unbridled attitude of the administration are not checked, he will personality take up the case to the Governor. Deputy Commissioner, Kathua, however assured Lal Singh and other members of the delegation that all the issues will be addressed within two days and whosoever within the administration found guilty, will be taken to task.
