PURI, July 4 : In a serene atmosphere under an overcast sky and light drizzle, lakhs of devotees thronged the Gundicha Temple today to witness the Sandhya Darshan of the Holy Trinity seated on the Ratna Simhasana at the Adapa Mandap of the temple.
Devotees also partook in Mahaprasad on the auspicious occasion of Navami.
According to belief, those who have darshan of the Lords at the Adapa Mandap of the Gundicha Temple attain Mokshya (salvation).
However, poor traffic management led to long queues of drenched devotees, many of whom waited for hours to enter the temple for darshan.
Supakaras (temple cooks) and their support staff were busy in the Gundicha Temple kitchen, preparing massive quantities of commercial Mahaprasad for offering to the deities.
A large number of devotees relished the sacred offering.
A long queue of devotees was seen within the barricades leading to the entrance of the Gundicha Temple.
As the temple administration had earlier announced that Sandhya Darshan would close by 6 PM today, many devotees opted to have an early glimpse of the deities.
