JAMMU, May 14: Half-yearly fair of Mata Sati Savitri and Baba Amarnath Ji was organized by Lakhanpal community at village Sanghani in Akhnoor tehsil and book of Mata Sati Savitri Kul Devta Baba Amarnath Ji was also released on the occasion.
Eminent people of Lakhanpal community participated along with their families in this book release. On this auspicious occasion poet Kewal Kumar Kewal and Kumari Meenakshi Devi were honored.
This book on Kul Devta, Sati Baba Amarnath Ji of Lakhanpal community has been written by retired Inspector Somnath Lakhanpal and in this book biography of Kul Devta and rituals performed in the fair have been written in detail.
In this programme, Ashok Kumar Sharma, Raj Kumar, Raj Kumar Garu Ram, Surinder Kumar, Rajiv Kumar, Surinder Kumar, Master Ganesh Das Sharma, Sohan Lal, Sudarshan Kumar, Pradeep Kumar Appu, Chaman Lal, Deepak Sharma Kewal Krishna etc. were present.
Poet Kewal Kumar Kewal said that such books should be written on the lives of Gods and Goddesses so that the coming generation will get an opportunity to know about Gods and Goddesses and our culture and rituals and will take this tradition forward.
Somnath informed in detail about the faith of Gods and Goddesses, traditions and customs and rituals of Lakhanpal community and rituals and methods.
