KARGIL, Oct 6: After two days elaborate discussion the District Plan for Kargil for the year 2016-17 was approved today with an annual budget of around Rs 98 crore during the Annual Council Meeting held under the chairmanship of the chief Executive Councilor LAHDC Kargil, Kacho Ahmad Ali Khan at Conference Hall Baroo.
The Opposition National Conference boycotted the annual Council meeting.
The budget comprised of Rs 45 crore as Regular Funds Component, Rs 12 crore as Loan Component, Center Share Rs. 32.5 cr and the State share of Rs 8.3 crore.
During the meeting it was decided to form a house committee to monitor the development works in all councilor constituencies.
The Chairman on this occasion said the focused sector of the LAHDC will be Education, Health, Agriculture, Horticulture and Animal Husbandry. He directed all Sectoral Officers to pace up the developmental works keeping in view the short season left now.
The House also decided that any purchase by any department should be made strictly through District Purchase Committee Kargil so that entire process is accountable.
Kacho Ahmad Ali Khan on the consensus of the House directed the Education Department to detach all attached teachers to their actual place of posting so that the system of Education Department should be improved for a better future of the students and education sector in Kargil.
The meeting also decided to shift DIET from Bagh-e-Khomenie to Chutuk immediately and also realized the need of a multipurpose hall for Degree College Kargil and directed the concerned authority to make the DPR for constructing the same.
