UDHAMPUR, Mar 11: Investigation in a NDPS case led to arrest of a lady narco smuggler from Anantnag.
While investigating FIR No. 95/2025 registered under Sections 8/15/29 of the NDPS Act at Police Station Chenani, Police conducted a follow-up (backward linkage) operation and arrested the lady narco smuggler involved in the said case.
It is pertinent to mention that earlier, on 30.09 .2025, a police team of PS Udhampur arrested an Inter-State drug peddler namely Kuldeep Singh , son of Surjeet Singh, resident of Lattiawal, Kapurthala, Punjab and recovered poppy straw from his possession at motor shed naka Chenani. During the course of further investigation of the case, the involvement of another accused in the narcotics supply chain came to light.
Acting promptly on the leads, a police team of PS Chenani led by PSI Umer Sayeed under the supervision of SHO Chenani Insp Raghubir Singh Choudhary arrested Rohie Hassan, daughter of Ghulam Hassan Bhat, resident of Near Masjid Sharif, Anantnag.
Further investigation is underway to identify additional forward and backward linkages in the drug network.
