JAMMU, June 28: Jammu and Kashmir Police today arrested a woman drug peddler from Rajiv Nagar area here and recovered from her possession a heroin-like substance, Rs 40,400 and an electronic weighing scale.
A police official said a team from Police Post Narwal, during routine patrolling near Rajiv Nagar Chowk, intercepted a suspicious woman. She was identified as Ranjana alias Rachna of Rajiv Nagar, Narwal.
During the search, he said, the police team recovered 11 grams of heroin-like substance along with cash and a weighing scale from her possession.
Accordingly, he said, a case FIR Number 200/2025 has been registered against the lady drug peddler under the relevant sections of the NDPS Act at Police Station Bahu Fort.
The accused has been taken into custody, and further investigation is underway, said the police official.
