LEH, Sept 17: Lt Governor of Ladakh, Kavinder Gupta has declared the recent flash floods and landslides/mudslides caused due to unprecedented rainfall in the Union Territory of Ladakh as State Specific Disasters.
According to a notification in this regard, the extreme climatic event has resulted in considerable damage to public property, essential infrastructure, agricultural crops, roads, and the telecommunication network throughout the Union Territory.
The items and norms of assistance from the State Disaster Response Fund shall be governed as specified in Letter F. No 33-03/2020-NDM-I (Vol-II), dated 10 October, 2020, superseded by Letter No. 33-03/2020-NDM-I dated 11 July, 2023.
