JAMMU, Feb 16: The Ladakh Administration has notified the “Service of Summons Rules, 2025” under the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023.
The rules, effective immediately, mandate that summons be served personally by a police officer, if possible, and a register must be maintained at each police station to record details of individuals summoned, including address, email, and phone number.
In addition, summons can now be served electronically via personal messaging apps or email, provided they bear the court’s seal. These rules replace the previous S.O. 50 of 2024.
