KATRA, July 9: A local labourer working on Delhi-Amritsar -Katra Expressway, died after he fell from a swing on a pillar near Nomain, here today.
The deceased was identified as Naresh Singh, son of Sher Singh, resident of Sangaldan, District Ramban. He was working on a swing at a height on a pillar when the rope got damaged, leading to his fall and death.
After the death, co-workers of the deceased staged a protest at the site, alleging that Naresh succumbed to his injuries because he did get timely first aid.
“He was critically injured, but there was no first aid vehicle or medical team present at the site which resulted into death of Naresh,” they alleged.
Meanwhile, Police have registered a case in this connection for further investigation.
