JAMMU, Dec 11: A 34-year-old labourer hanged himself to death in Gangyal area here today, officials said.
Suraj Sharma son of Kedar Sharma of Madhepura Bihar at present Gangyal was found hanging at a construction site near Rajiv Gandhi Hospital with the help of a fan hook and dupatta around 11 Am, they said.
Soon after getting information, he was taken to Government Medical College Jammu, where doctors declared him as dead on arrival, officials said.
While the body of the deceased labourer has been shifted to the mortuary of the Government Medical College and Hospital Jammu police have initiated inquest proceedings under section 194 of the BNS to ascertain the reasons as to why he took such an extreme step to end his life.
