RAJOURI, Dec 31: Department of Labour, district Rajouri today organized an awareness cum interactive session in the premises of Government Industrial Training Institute (ITI), Rajouri with tire objective of disseminating comprehensive information regarding tire four newly implemented Labour Codes and their far- reaching implications for workers, employers and industrial establishments. The awareness camp was organized under the supervision of Pradyot Gupta, Assistant Labour Commissioner, Rajouri and was attended by stakeholders including workers, employers of various establishments, representatives from Beopar mandal and advocates from district Court Rajouri. The programme was aimed at enhancing understanding of the recent labour reforms, particularly the Code on Wages, 2019; the Industrial Relations Code, 2020; the Code on Social Security, 2020 and the Occupational Safety, Health and Working Conditions Code, 2020.
The programme was also attended by and addressed by Ujjwal Mahajan, Principal ITI Rajouri, Tahir Sajjad Lone, Vice President Beopar mandal Rajouri, Advocate Aftab Alam, Advocate Arfan Ahmed Choudhary, Advocate Shajahait Ahmed Jameel and Mr. Neeraj Kumar, Labour Officer, who were the key speakers on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Pradyot Gupta, Assistant Labour Commissioner, Rajouri highlighted that the newly enacted labour codes are designed to promote the growth of industrial and commercial activities by fostering a harmonious relationship between employers and workers. He emphasized that the codes provide statutory protection to workmen through preventive, conciliatory, adjudicatory, and punitive mechanisms, while also promoting welfare measures to alleviate the hardships of the working class.
