This musical tribute is dedicated to Brigadier Rajinder Singh Jamwal, revered as “The Saviour of Kashmir”, and his band of 100 brave Dogra soldiers who laid down their lives defending the Kashmir valley from invasion in October 1947.
Inspired by the patriotic fervour of couplets from the poem “Ghar” by Kunwar Viyogi (Air Warrior Randhir Singh Jamwal), the song has been translated from Dogri into Hindi and composed into an emotionally powerful anthem by renowned music director Brij Mohan. It has been sung by BSF soldier Riaz Ahmed, with musical arrangement by Sumit Guha and visuals directed by filmmaker Rohan Tiwari.
The launching ceremony was held at the Kunwar Viyogi Memorial Auditorium, Dogri Bhawan, Jammu and graced by prominent persons from military and literary background.
“Kunwar Viyogi’s ‘Jai Dogra’ is more than a song – it is a national memory preserved in melody. It is our salute to Dogra pride and a reflection of our unwavering commitment to sharing our stories of sacrifice through culture,” said Poonam Singh Jamwal, Founder of KVMT.
As part of the launch, the event also featured a special panel discussion titled: “Operation Gulmarg to Sindoor – How Valour Forged Naya Bharat”, moderated by noted journalist and CNN-News18 anchor Ayushman Singh Jamwal.
The session brought together decorated military veterans, historians, and strategic thinkers who threw light on the legacy of Dogra courage and its relevance to India’s national identity today.
The panelists include: Maj Gen Goverdhan Singh Jamwal (Retd.), Lt Gen Rakesh Sharma (Retd), Brig Anil Gupta (Retd), Col K S Jamwal (Retd) and Col Ajay K Raina (Retd.).
