REASI, Nov 15: Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Reasi under the administrative control of Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technologies Jammu (SKUAST-J) organised a live telecast programme on Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme here today at Panasa village.
A large number of farmers of the area attended the programme which was organized under the supervision of Vice Chancellor, Prof. B.N Tripathi and guidance of Director Extension, Prof. S.K Gupta of SKUAST-J.
Senior Scientist & Head of KVK, Reasi, Dr. Banarsi Lal briefed about the objective of the programme and elaborated PM-KISAN scheme.
He said that under PM-KISAN scheme Rs. 6000 is given to farmers in three instalments so that they can purchase quality seeds, fertilizers and other agro-inputs to increase their crop production.
During programme PM Narender Modi released 15th instalment of PM-KISAN scheme from Khunti, Jharkhand.
The PM also highlighted Vishwakarma Yojana and spoke on new equipments/ technologies to be provided under the scheme.
Dr. Banarsi stressed on cluster based approach and discussed on SHGs/FPOs formation.
Dr. Lalit Upadhyay, Scientist spoke on the cultivation of spices for enhancing farmers’ income.
He stressed on the commercial floriculture in monkey menace area.
Preeti Chaudhary spoke on women empowerment and encouraged women farmers for their outstanding efforts in agricultural development.
Participants keenly listened to PM Modi and thanked him for the financial support.
The programme was assisted by Manohar Lal and concluded by Preeti Chaudhary with formal vote of thanks.
