KVK Employees Association constituted with Puneet Choudhary as president

JAMMU, Jan 6: Staff members of all Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs) under SKUAST-Jammu have constituted KVK Employees Association SKUAST-Jammu.
The association was constituted during a meeting of KVK scientists, technical personnel, and supporting staff, at the Railway Head Complex of the University. The primary focus of the meeting was to deliberate on the proposed reduction in allowances for KVK employees by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) and to address other key concerns affecting the staff.
Dr Puneet Choudhary, Head KVK- Jammu, was selected as President of the newly constituted body. Dr Sanjay Khajuria and Dr Sheetal Badyal are two Vice Presidents. Dr Sanjay Koushal has been made General Secretary whereas Dr Anamika Jamwal and Dr Sudhir Jamwal will work as Joint Secretaries of the association. Sahil Targotra will work as treasurer.
In addition, the Heads of KVKs at Rajouri, Poonch, Kathua, Kishtwar, and Doda were inducted as executive members to ensure an inclusive representation of all KVKs within the association.
The newly constituted association is committed to safeguarding the interests of all KVK employees, with its immediate priority being the continuation of full salary with all the allowances for all staff members, said Puneet Choudhary, president of the Association.
The KVK Employees Association SKUAST-J will act as a unified platform to address the challenges faced by the employees and to advocate for their rights and welfare effectively, he added.
