Excelsior Correspondent
SAMBA, Mar 15: Pointing towards the obnoxious discrimination perpetuated against Jammu region in all other sectors during BJP-PDP rule,  Yashpal Kundal lambasted the sinister alliance for towing the secessionist agenda in the State. He was addressing the workers meeting at Samba today.
Kundal while taking a pot shot on BJP said that the Saffron party had compromised the pristine dignity and honour of the people of Jammu region for the sake of power. He castigated the State Government for its failure to compensate the farmers of the border areas whose crops were damaged during the last two years due to Pak shelling and also by the catastrophic rains and floods. He accused the Government of harassing the farming community by issuing orders to cancel their ‘Gardories’ of the agricultural land which they had grown fertile by ploughing and cultivating barren land for years together.
He demanded that all such aggrieved farmers should be given ownership rights of their respective land under the Roshni Act. He also accused the Government of its U-Turn over the issue of allotment of 5 marlas of plots to border dwellers in safer zones and further demanded the release of compensation in favour of the NOKs of border dwellers for loss of life, property, livestock, crops, houses as promised to them by the dispensation from time to time.
Expressing anguish over the miserable plight of the youth of Jammu Pradesh, he divulged that dozens of dharnas, protests and hunger strikes were being organised on day to day basis in the Winter Capital of the State against the gross injustice being doled out to the unemployed and under employed youth with the mandated leaders remaining mute for redressing the grievances of aggrieved sections including DRWs, NHM and Anganwari workers, Safai-Karamcharis, SPOs, ReTs besides contractual lecturers.
