Kuldip Singh to visit Afghanistan for consultancy on Lora and Dahla Dam Projects

JAMMU, Feb 7: Kuldip Singh Jamwal, retired Deputy Director General of the Geological Survey of India (GSI), has been invited by the Ministry of Energy and Water, Afghanistan.
During his visit, Jamwal will provide high-level geological consultancy and prepare the Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) for the proposed Lora Dam in Kandahar Province and the Dahla Dam in Helmand Province.
He will lead a senior expert team comprising Indrajeet Rawat and Harjeet Singh Sandhu.
The team will undertake comprehensive geological investigations, technical assessments and DPR preparation for the two strategic water infrastructure projects, which are aimed at strengthening irrigation, water security and regional development.
Earlier, he was deputed to Afghanistan by the Government of India for the Salma Dam project, where he played a crucial role in geological investigations and project-level assessments, contributing significantly to the successful execution of the project.
The visit is scheduled from 11 February 2026 to 18 February 2026.
