SRINAGAR, June 6: In a landmark achievement, the University of Kashmir (KU) has been awarded the prestigious A++ grade by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) in its latest re-accreditation cycle.
With an outstanding Institutional Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 3.68, the highest in its history, KU now ranks among the top academic institutions in the country, marking a proud moment for higher education in Jammu & Kashmir.
This is the University’s fourth accreditation cycle. It previously earned Grade ‘A’ in 2002 and 2011 and Grade ‘A+’ in 2019.
The current A++ grade signifies KU’s remarkable progress in academic quality, research and governance.
The University is also the first higher educational institution in J&K to be assessed under NAAC’s revised and more rigorous accreditation framework.
They praised KU’s upgraded infrastructure, student-centric initiatives, robust IT-enabled learning systems and forward-thinking implementation of the National Education Policy (NEP-2020).
Vice-Chancellor Prof Nilofer Khan hailed the accreditation as a “collective victory” of faculty, students and staff.
“This A++ grade reaffirms our commitment to inclusive and research-driven education. From pioneering flexible degree programmes to securing Rs 112 crore in research funding, KU is on track to becoming a globally recognised knowledge hub,” she said.
