“True peace cannot be borrowed from outside; it has to be awakened within.”
The Search Within
We all know this truth, yet-like the musk deer searching outside for the fragrance that lies within itself-we chase peace in the world around us. This endless seeking never brings the fulfillment we long for.
Yoga Sutra (I.2) – Maharishi Patanjali :
“Yogah citta-vrtti-nirodhah”
Yoga is the stilling of the fluctuations of the mind.
Kriya Yoga provides the practical path to achieve this inner stillness.
Bhagavad Gita (6.17) – Lord Krishna:
“Yuktahara-viharasya yukta-svasa-pranayamah
Yuktacestasya karmani yogo bhavati duhkhaha”
“He who is moderate in eating and recreation, who practices regulated and conscious breathing through Kriya Yoga, and who is balanced in all actions, attains yoga-the state that dissolves all suffering.”
Breath as the Path
Kriya Yoga is the art of uniting with your own breath-the very essence of life. Breath is also known as Prana Karma-the one action you have been performing continuously from birth until death.
Seen deeply, life itself is a garland of breaths-each inhalation and exhalation a bead, strung together from the very first breath you take to the last you release. Within this flow lies the doorway from restlessness to peace.
How to Achieve Peace Through Your Breath
Observe: Notice your breath during anger, fear, or insecurity. How shallow and fast it becomes.
Return Awareness: Sit with a straight spine. Take a long, deep breath.
Anchor Yourself: Stay with your breath. Heart rate slows, mind calms, and peace emerges.
Insight: Mind and Breath are deeply interconnected. Deep breathing calms the mind; a calm mind awakens peace.
Your most important instrument-your breath-is always with you. No searching outside is necessary.
Wisdom of the Guru
My Gurudev often says:
“Breath Karma is the real Prana Karma-the only karma that never ceases. When you breathe with awareness, this ordinary action transforms into Ishwar Seva.”
Long, deep breaths purify the mind, just as muddy water settles and becomes clear.
With practice, breath regains the purity of the first inhalation of life.
Life may still present challenges, but conscious breathing dissolves fight-or-flight responses, steadies the nervous system, and aligns action with the soul.
From Restlessness to Peace
Stress, anxiety, anger, and insecurity gradually lose their grip.
Awareness disperses clouds of confusion.
Actions flow from the soul, not ego.
Walk into the light of your soul-calm, clear, joyful, living each moment with purpose.
Timeless Wisdom
The long, deep Kriya Breath is studied worldwide today.
Thousands of years ago, Maharishi Patanjali revealed its supreme value.
This sacred knowledge is the true inheritance of Bharat.
Yoga Vasisthaha:
The mind is both bondage and liberation. Our sages declare the breath to be the key-an ever-present companion leading from restlessness to peace.
Each conscious breath is a step on the sacred journey of life, transforming ordinary existence into divine communion.
